Harley-Davidson Service In Pakenham, Without The Dealer
Under Australian Consumer Law you can have your Harley serviced by any competent workshop without voiding the factory warranty, as long as the work is done to schedule with the right parts and fluids and it’s recorded properly. We stamp the book and keep the records.
What you get instead of a dealer service department is the person doing the work talking to you directly. No service advisor relaying messages, no line items appearing on the invoice you never approved.
We’re at 18 Rapid Way in Pakenham, and we take Harleys from Berwick, Officer, Cranbourne, Narre Warren, Beaconsfield, Drouin, Warragul and across Gippsland.

Schedule
Harley-Davidson Service Intervals
Harley schedules run on kilometres or twelve months, whichever comes first. Riding season in Victoria means a lot of bikes hit the twelve months long before the kilometres. You can check the official intervals for your model in the Harley-Davidson Australia service schedules, or bring the logbook in and we’ll work it out with you.
| Interval | What’s Involved |
|---|---|
| 1,600 km | First service on a new bike. Engine oil and filter, fasteners checked, initial inspection. Critical one to get right — skipping it is how warranty arguments start. |
| 8,000 km | Engine oil and filter, primary and transmission fluid, brake and clutch check, tyres, drive belt tension and condition, full safety inspection. |
| 16,000 km | The above plus air filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, throttle and cable adjustment, suspension check. |
| Major service | Everything above plus fork oil, deeper driveline inspection, and on Twin Cams a close look at the cam chain tensioners. |
Work We Do
Harley Servicing & Repairs
Logbook Servicing
Scheduled services to Harley-Davidson specification with the correct fluids and filters, stamped and recorded so your warranty and resale history stay intact.
Cam Chain Tensioners
The known weak point on Twin Cam models. We inspect them properly and replace worn tensioners before the shoes let go and take the motor with them.
Brakes & Tyres
Pads, rotors, fluid, and tyre replacement and balancing. Heavy bikes are hard on brakes and it’s the thing riders leave the longest.
Diagnostics
Running faults, fuelling problems, charging and electrical issues, warning lights. Scan and fault report from $199, and the time comes off the repair if you go ahead.
Drive Belts & Clutch
Belt inspection, tensioning and replacement, clutch adjustment and rebuilds, primary chain and compensator work.
Suspension
Fork oil and seals, rear shock service, and ride height and preload set up for how you actually ride and what you carry.
Fluids & Filters
Engine, primary and transmission oils, oil and air filters, brake fluid flushes and spark plugs — the maintenance that quietly decides how long the bike lasts.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
Looking at a used Harley? From $349 we’ll go over it before you hand the money across and tell you honestly what it needs.

Inspection Report
You See What We See
Every Harley that comes through gets a full photographed inspection, graded three ways. Nothing outside the booked service gets touched until you’ve seen the photos and said yes.
Red
Needs attention now. Safety-related or about to cause damage if it’s ridden as-is.
Amber
Wearing, but has life left. Budget for it and we’ll flag it again next service.
Green
Checked and fine. Just as useful to know — it’s what stops you paying for work you don’t need.

It refers to changing all three fluids — engine oil, primary and transmission — rather than engine oil alone. On a Harley these are separate reservoirs with separate drain plugs, which is where the name comes from. From $599.
First service at 1,600 km, then every 8,000 km or twelve months, whichever comes first. In Victoria a lot of bikes reach the twelve months well before the kilometres, so the calendar usually decides.
Twin Cam engines use spring-loaded tensioner shoes that wear over time. If they wear through, debris goes into the oil pump and the damage gets expensive quickly. We inspect them as part of major servicing and replace them before that happens.
Yes. A diagnostic scan with a written fault report is $199, quoted before we start. If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic cost comes off the job.
