Engine rebuild FAQ
Engine-only rebuilds typically run 4–8 weeks depending on parts availability and our workshop queue. We’ll give you a realistic timeline when we quote, and keep you updated as the build progresses.
It depends entirely on what the teardown reveals — a fresh top end is a very different job to a crank rebuild with re-plating. We quote after inspection and measurement, so you know exactly what’s needed before any work begins. No surprises.
Yes. Cylinder re-plating with new pistons is a core part of our 2-stroke service, along with precise squish clearance and port timing setup on assembly.
Yes — we have an extensive network for vintage Japanese parts and keep good stock of common items. Rare components can take longer to land, and we factor that honestly into your timeline.
Your call. We rebuild back to factory spec for reliability, or build for more power with performance parts, porting and setup changes. We’ll talk through the trade-offs before anything is ordered.
Every engine leaves with run-in guidance, and we’re here for support after the rebuild — how it’s broken in matters as much as how it was assembled.
